Fix: 'Something Went Wrong' Error in Google Gemini

The Problem

You send a prompt to Google Gemini, and instead of a reply you get a generic:

Something went wrong. Try again later, or try a different prompt.

Causes

• Heavy load on the service during peak hours.
• The prompt touches something against usage policy, even unintentionally.
• An account issue, or a feature not yet available in your region.
• A browser or cache problem.

The Fix

1. Rephrase your prompt more simply and clearly.
2. Refresh the page or start a new chat.
3. Clear cache and cookies for gemini.google.com.
4. Try a different Google account to rule out an account-specific issue.
5. Confirm the feature you're using is actually available in your country (features roll out gradually by region).
6. Try a different browser, or the mobile app instead of the browser.
