Causes
- A weak Wi-Fi or unstable mobile data connection.
- An outdated app version with bugs.
- A buildup of app cache that needs clearing.
- A temporary issue on OpenAI's servers.
The Fix
- Confirm your internet actually works (try loading another site).
- Fully close the app and reopen it.
- Update the app to the latest version from the store.
- Clear the app's cache from your phone settings (Android: Settings > Apps > ChatGPT > Storage > Clear Cache).
- Log out and log back into your account.
- If it persists, try chat.openai.com in a browser to rule out a wider outage.
- As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the app.
